Delete a Subject Area

You use the Subject Areas editor to delete subject areas in the current model. When you delete a subject area, only the subject area is deleted. The entities, tables, and views in the subject area that you delete are not deleted from the model.

When you delete an entity or a table, you can choose to delete it from the model or the subject area. If you choose to delete it from the subject area, it is still in the Main Subject Area and in any other subject areas in which you directly included it.

To delete a subject area

1. Click Subject Areas on the Model menu.

   The Subject Areas editor opens.

2. Select the subject area that you want to delete from the Subject Area list, then click the Delete button.

   The selected subject area is removed from the Subject Area list.

3. Click OK.

   Your changes are saved and the Subject Areas editor closes.

Note: The Delete button is unavailable if you have the Main Subject Area selected.
