Defining a Recipient

Now we define to the database the individuals or entities who are going to receive reports.

For this example you should be on the Report Distribution Option Menu (VRDMI000). Follow these steps to access the Recipient Definition Screen in ADD mode:

  1. Enter 3 on the Command line and press Enter.
  2. Tab to the Optional Names field, Recipient (or ADD) and enter ADD.

  3. Press Enter to access the Recipient Definition Screen (VRDMU310).

In order to define a recipient, tab to the required fields and enter the data, as shown in the example below:

  4. Enter your name or user ID in the Recipient field.

The ID you are using in this example is for testing purposes and can be easily changed online. We suggest that you use your name or user ID. (Remember, naming conventions are important. See the chapter "Planning Implementation" in this guide for suggestions and worksheets.)

  5. Enter your Maildrop name.

We are using PRODCNTL, the maildrop we just added to the database.

  6. Enter your phone number, and optionally, some descriptive text about you, the recipient.

The description field is useful if the recipient ID is not a person's name.
