Reason:
This informational message is issued while attempting to alter a non-VSAM data sets catalog entry. RESTORE or auto-restore failed when attempting to update the entry to mirror the information as it was prior to BACKUP or ARCHIVE. This situation can occur if the authorization checks within the SMS-management class no longer authorize the specific information that was previously authorized.
An example can be a data set archived with a FMT1 DSCB and catalog expiration date of 1999.365. If the target management class now has a RETENTION LIMIT of 0 specified (either allocation routed to a different management class or the management class was modified), the alter of the catalog to this value would fail as not being allowed by the management class.
Because normal JCL or dynamic allocation to a management class with a RETENTION LIMIT of 0 issues a good allocation and ignores the following:
CADisk does the same.
The RESTORE or auto-restore processing will receive a good condition code and the data set will be correct as specified by the management class.
