NOTE — THE DMS ARCHIVE INDEX DEVICE TYPE DOES NOT AGREE WITH THE CATALOG DEVICE TYPE. DATA SET HAS BEEN MOVED. WE RECOMMEND YOU RUN REBUILD FUNCTION ON THE VOLUME TO IMPROVE DMS FILE SEARCH PERFORMANCE. REBUILD ARCHIVE KEY = (kkk), DATA SET NAME = (ddd)
Reason:
CADisk has encountered an archive data set on disk that was moved to a device type that is different from the device type on which it was created. Since CADisk keeps direct search pointers in its index entries that correspond to unique device types, its search technique is probably not as efficient as it would normally be.
Action:
You may do any one of the following:
- Ignore the message. CADisk will reposition either forward or backward as needed, giving you all normal functionality. Performance will be slowed imperceptibly.
- Improve CADisk Restore search performance by moving the archive data set on disk (ddd) back to its original device type with Move/Copy. CADisk will then be able to use its direct search pointers in future Restores.
- Improve CADisk Restore search performance by Merging the archive data set on disk. While Merge performance may be slowed somewhat, CADisk will then be able to use its direct search pointers in future Restores.
- Improve CADisk Restore search performance by running PURGE SCRATCH=NO,DELPROF=NO,VOL=(kkk) with CADisk sysparm UNCATPSUn, followed by a Rebuild. Since the archive data set on disk (ddd) is cataloged, you need only specify the data set name in the REBUILD ARCHIVES DD statement. CADisk will then be able to use its direct search pointers in future Restores.
