DISK ARCHIVE FILE NOT LOCATED, CANNOT CONTINUE VOL=(vvv), DSN=(ddd), RC=(ccc)

Reason:

CADisk has been requested to perform an action that requires it to read a disk archive file. The records for the file were found in the archive volume index but the actual data set (ddd) was not found on the disk volume (vvv) pointed to by the index record.

The following is a list of retrun codes returned from message 2912:

2

File is RACF-protected and access denied.

4

Volume not online.

8

Data set not on volume.

8+

See Obtain Return Codes in the appendix "Common Return Codes" for a list of OBTAIN error codes.

Action:

The data set has probably been deleted, moved or renamed. If the data set still exists, move it back to the volume indicated in the message or run REBUILD function to recreate the archive index records for it.
