AN OUT-OF-SEQUENCE KEY HAS BEEN DETECTED IN DSN = (ddd) PREVIOUS KEY = (ppp) CURRENT KEY = (ccc) DUMP OF CI/RECORD CONTAINING ERROR FOLLOWS

Reason:

CADisk has encountered key-sequenced data set (ddd) that has at least one record out of key sequence. The first 50 characters of each key are printed in hexadecimal format following the message. In addition, a dump of the current control interval (if processing using control interval access) or the current record (if using standard access methods) being processed when the error was detected is printed after the message. CADisk may or may not stop processing, depending on the sysparms in effect at your installation.

If CADisk is allowed to continue processing, no records will be lost on the archive medium, but if the data set must be restored from this version, non-conventional restoration procedures may be required (such as an extract, sort, and then REPRO using IDCAMS).

Action:

In order to fix the data set, you should use the REPRO facility of IDCAMS to make a copy of the cluster. This data set should then be sorted according to the key of the cluster (and its offset). The sorted data set should then be REPROed back into the original cluster.
