REQUESTED BLOCK NUMBER DOES NOT EXIST ON ARCHIVE TAPE: VOLUME=(vvv), FILE NUMBER=(nnn), BLOCK NUMBER=(bbb)

Reason:

CADisk was attempting to locate a data set on an archive tape volume. The archive index indicated that the data set existed on tape volume (vvv) in archive file number (nnn) on the archive tape, and that this file can be located on block number (bbb) on the tape. CADisk was unable to locate the specified block number on the tape.

Action:

This problem is usually associated with a tape I/O error. Rerun the job again to determine if the problem can be reproduced. If the error recurs, use the CADisk copy tape if one exists.

If this still does not solve the problem, verify that the data set being restored was archived to that tape volume and CADisk is using the correct Files Data Set. Use the archive tape analysis utility to determine the exact contents of the tape.

If archive tape analysis shows the correct information on the tape, use the REBUILD function to reconstruct the archive tape in the CADisk archive index.
