Reason:

During scan the catalog name passed as input for pattern matching characters. An error may occur for one of the following reasons:

Reason code 08: No matches were found for the catalog name pattern supplied by the user
Reason code 16: Maximum number of catalog entries exceeded
Reason code 20: Master catalog not found
Reason code 24: No user catalogs found in the master catalog
Reason code 28: Pattern matching not allowed (VSCATPTN = 'N')
Reason code 32: Catalog name not returned by catalog management
Reason code 36: Error detected by catalog management
Reason code 40: Exclusion catalog(s) were specified but none matched any of the catalogs in the output table
Reason code 44: Exclusion pattern(s) specified caused all entries in the output table to be deleted
Reason: code 48: A previous error in catalog scan processing caused processing to be bypassed

Action:

If reason code is 16, increase the VSCATMAX system setting to at least one greater than the number of user catalogs defined in the master catalog.
