LENGTH OF BLOCK READ IS (xxx) BYTES, BUT BLOCK DESCRIPTOR LENGTH, FROM BLOCK DATA, HAS VALUE OF (yyy) ERROR CODE = (eee) VOLUME = (vvv)

Reason:

The read request to return a block from tape has returned a block containing (xxx) characters. When CADisk wrote the block to the archive tape it placed a halfword block descriptor length (yyy) in the block as the first two characters. These values should match but with this block they do not.

Either the block read is not a valid archive tape block or its length has been changed. The physical block length is incorrect. Processing the tape with non-CADisk utilities or because of an I/O error may have caused this. CADisk will continue to process the tape with the error to report on all possible data.
