Reason:

The archive tape verification utility has encountered an error within an archive tape block. The number of the block on the tape is (xxx). The error explanation is (ccc). Following these messages is a hex dump of the archive tape block in error.

Action:

Use the dump to determine the significance of the error.

Note: For further information about the layout of archive tape data blocks, see the section Tape Format in the Systems Guide.

(aaa) is the last good logical record of the archive tape block processed. (lll) is the number of characters of data read from the tape for the block in error.

If an extract of data was being performed, the data following this logical record in the block has not been extracted or passed to the user exit module.
