How Routing or Chaining Works

When a DSA in a backbone receives a request, it may need to forward (or chain) the request to another DSA to deal with the request.

A DSA receiving a request is able to forward that request directly to any other DSA within the domain using the shortest path routing, as the entire directory backbone shares the same configuration knowledge.
