Upgrading DXmanager
DXmanager has been changed significantly since CA Directory r12 SP2.
To upgrade a component, run the installer again, using the instructions for Windows or UNIX.
Follow these steps:
- Upgrade all CA Directory nodes to the latest CA Directory release.
DXmanager cannot correctly manage a directory host that runs an older version of CA Directory.
- Upgrade the Directory Management package on the DXmanager host.
The installation process displays a warning message, stating that this is a major upgrade.
- Clear internet caches, to prevent problems:
- Delete all temporary Internet files from the Internet browser.
- (Windows) Open Control Panel, Java, Temporary Internet Files, Settings, then click “Delete Files.”
- Migrate customized command settings used by the pre-upgrade version that are now supported by DXmanager:
- Plan: Match your custom settings against the list in Commands Used in DXmanager.
- Deploy the new model.
DXmanager detects any conflicts between existing text settings and settings in DXmanager.
Note: When a new model is deployed any customized settings placed in the “dxmanager.dxc” files will not be detected as conflicts as they are now ignored by DXmanager
- Check the alert and warn logs for information about the conflicts.
Note: The Administration Guide contains information about Troubleshooting DXmanager.
- Remove the settings from the text files, and update any DXmanager configuration, then deploy the revised configuration.
