Store to DNA File

The Store to DNA File page lets you save the settings you select to a DNA file. You must enter the name and path to indicate where you want to save your DNA file. You can also enter a title and description for the DNA file.

The following options appear on the page:

DNA File Name

Enter the name and path where you want to create the DNA file. By default, the DNA file is created in the My Documents folder with a name in the following form:

ComputernameDatecreated_Datetime.dna

For example, User01April22_2004_1622.dna

Title

Enter a title of up to 50 characters for the DNA file.

Note: The title is displayed when you choose Open, DNA File and right-click a DNA file name. It also displays in DMM Explorer.

Description

Enter a description of up to 250 characters for the DNA file.

Note: The description is displayed when you choose Open, DNA File and right-click a DNA file name. It also displays in DMM Explorer.

Advanced

Opens the Advanced Options dialog to let you specify options for self-extraction, spanning and password protecting the DNA file.

Create Self-Extracting DNA File

Saves the DNA file as an executable that applies itself to the system on which it is run.
