64-Bit Configuration Options

The 64-bit Options table lists the 64-bit configuration options that you can set. These options are applicable only when your destination is 64-bit OS.

Determines the type of configuration that you want to use:

Default:

Includes the following scenarios:

Source: 32-bit OS and Destination: 64-bit OS

-- Applies 32-bit application settings from the source computer to 32-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

Source: 64-bit OS and Destination: 64-bit OS

-- Applies 32-bit application settings from the source computer to 32-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

-- Applies 64-bit application settings from the source computer to 64-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

Both

Defaults to the Default option.

 

64-bit Only:

Includes the following scenarios:

Source: 32-bit OS and Destination: 64-bit OS

-- Applies 32-bit application settings from the source computer to 64-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

Source: 64-bit OS and Destination: 64-bit OS

-- Applies 32-bit applications settings and 64-bit application settings from the source computer to 64-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

 

 

Both:

Includes the following scenarios:

Source: 32-bit OS and Destination: 64-bit OS

-- Applies 32-bit application settings from the source computer to both 32-bit applications and 64-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

Source: 64-bit OS and Destination: 64-bit OS

-- Applies 32-bit application settings from the source computer to both 32-bit applications and 64-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

-- Applies 64-bit application settings from the source computer to 64-bit applications on the destination (64-bit OS).

Note: Migration of 64-bit applications (source) to 32-bit applications (destination) is not supported.
