Destination User Interface

The Destination User Interface page displays if you select a deferred migration on the Migration Type page.

You can customize the actions a user can perform during a migration by customizing the CA DMM wizard interface. This can increase migration security and streamline migration processes for the end user.

The Enable user interface group box allows you to select the actions you want users to take during a migration.

To customize the user interface on the destination system

  1. Select the check box next to the action you want your users to take during a migration on the source workstation. If the user interface portions are not selected, Director Setup automatically disables associated portions of the user interface. Select from the following list of CA DMM pages:
    Select Template

When checked, displays the Select Template page so that users can choose a template during the migration.

    Open a DNA File

When checked, displays the Open a DNA File page to let users select the DNA file used in the migration.

    Select Users for Migration

When checked, displays the Select Users for Migration page to let users select other users to be included in the migration.

    Select System Settings

When checked, displays the Select System Settings page to let users select the system settings to be included in the migration.

    Select Applications

When checked, displays the Select Applications page to let users select the application settings to be included in the migration.

    Select Files and Folders

When checked, displays the Select Files and Folders page to let users select the files and folders to be included in the migration.

    Select Filters

    Basic Destination

When checked, displays the Basic Destination page to let users select a basic destination for the migration.

    Advanced Destination

When checked, displays the Advanced Destination page to let users select a destination for the migration.

    DNA File Validation

When checked, displays the DNA File Validation page so that users can choose to let CA DMM validate the DNA file for any possible errors before applying the file.

    Migration Status

When checked, displays the Migration Status page to let users see the progress of the migration.

    Log Results

When checked, displays the Log Results page to let users access the CA DMM migration logs at the end of the migration.

If you disable all of the pages of the user interface to perform a quiet migration, the CA DMM splash screen displays when the migration is initiated if a component is to be installed for CA DMM to run. The installation takes place, and the migration continues in quiet mode, with no user interface or splash screen displayed.
