Edit an Existing DMM Options File

On the first execution of CA DMM, a default DDNAOptions.dox file is created in the installation directory.

To edit an existing DMM Options file

Note: You must first open CA DMM from the Start menu. This creates a default DDNAOptions.xml file.

  1. Open the DMM Options Editor from the Start menu.

    DMM Options Editor opens.

  2. Click File, Open or click the File Open toolbar button.
  3. Browse to the folder where CA DMM is installed and select the DDNAOptions.dox file.

The default DMM Options file opens in the DMM Options Editor.

  4. Click the General branch of the DMM Options tree in the left pane of the DMM Options Editor.

The General DMM Options appears in the right pane of the DMM Options Editor. You can make any changes necessary to meet your migration requirements.

  5. Make changes to any of the options by clicking the option section you want to edit in the left tree view of the DMM Options Editor. The options you can edit appear in the right pane of the DMM Options Editor.
  6. When you have completed editing the DMM Options file, click File, Save or File, Save As to name and save the changes made. Or, click the Save toolbar button.

Note: As you are editing the default DMM Options file, the changes you made affect all migrations run from the installed version of CA DMM. If you do not want to affect all migrations, rename the DDNAOptions.dox file. If you save the options file as a different name, you must define the options file to use by setting the /O command line switch. The syntax for the command line is:

"C:\[Path name}\DesktopDNA.exe" /O "C:\[Path and Options file name.dox]"
