Director Setup returns any error messages in message boxes during your interaction with the wizard interface. Because it immediately displays error messages, it does not return any error codes on exiting.
Director Setup Errors
The following error messages might be returned in the process of navigating through the Director Setup interface, or during the creation of the Migration directory.

Displays when Director validates the paths entered. Cause: You entered invalid path(s). |

Migration Setup |
WARNING! You have entered a non-UNC path. Using UNC paths ensure that all migrating workstations will be able to find the migration and data folders. |
Displays if the paths entered are non-UNC paths. Cause: The paths entered are valid but they are not UNC paths. To avoid access issues during migration, we strongly recommend that you use UNC paths. You have the option to turn off this warning message. |

Template Selection |
Cannot find Template Editor. |
Displays if Template Editor is not available for use when the Launch Template Editor button is selected. Cause: The Template Editor is not in registry or in the DDNARun folder. |

Template Selection |
Template editor either is not installed in the correct location or returned an error. |
Displays if DMM Template Editor is not in the location indicated by the registry, or when DMM Template Editor launches and returns an error when the Launch Template Editor button is selected. Cause: The Template Editor was found in the registry but the location specified was incorrect, or Template Editor launched and then returned an error. |

Template Selection |
Please enter the path of the template you wish to use. |
Displays when the Use the following template option is selected but a path and file name for the template is not entered. Cause: You clicked the Next button on the Template Selection page without entering this information. |

Configuration Review |
The migration folder already exists in the folder you specified. Install DMM Director to this directory anyway? |
Displays if the migration folder already exists in the location you specified for the Migration directory. Clicking yes might overwrite files in that directory. Cause: The migration folder (DirectorMigration) already exists. |

Configuration Review |
Migration setup has been cancelled. |
Displays on the Configuration Review page during the creation of the automation, after clicking the confirm button. Cause: You clicked the Cancel button while files were being copied/created. |

Configuration Review |
Unable to copy file to migration directory. Please verify that there is space available on the destination server and that permissions are set correctly. |
Displays after clicking the Confirm button and Director Setup is attempting to copy a file, create a file, or create a directory in the migration directory. Cause: Space is not available, permissions are not available, the drive specified does not exist, and/or file already exists and is read-only. |

Configuration Review |
Configuration file missing or unreadable. Please reinstall Director. |
Displays after clicking the Confirm button, and the default migration file included with DMM Director is inaccessible when creating the source and destination migration files in the migration directory. Cause: The Configuration file is missing, is not in the format expected, or DOM fails to properly initialize. |

Configuration Review |
The template configuration file is invalid and cannot be opened. Please reinstall Director. |
Displays after clicking the Confirm button. It can occur in two places.
Cause: Specified template file is missing, or the template file is not in the format expected. |
