Assign Passwords

You can assign a password or the rules to automatically generate a new password on the destination.

To assign a password

  1. Click Passwords on the User Destinations page.

The Password options for new accounts dialog appears with the following options.

    Use no passwords

Indicates that you do not want to change the users' password on the destination system.

    Use a common password

Indicates that you want to assign a common password for all users on the destination system. You can specify the common password by clicking Specify.

Important! This should only be used if you also choose Users must change password at next logon.

    Use randomly generated passwords

Indicates that you want CA DMM to randomly assign a password for the destination users. You can choose the options for generating the random passwords by clicking Specify.

Note: If you select randomly generated passwords, you must also enter the location to save the Password log. The Password log defaults to the currently logged on users' My Documents folder. However, you must change the location to a secure location.

  2. Click OK.

    The changes are saved.
