FIND: Messages

When you enter a FIND or RFIND command, one of these messages is displayed to indicate one of five possible results:

Put string in quotes or Enter character string: The command is invalid, incomplete, or ambiguous.

Chars xxx found or 8-chars xxx

The requested character string was found.

No chars xxx found or No suffix xxx found

All of the data was scanned and the character string was not found.

*Bottom of data reached* or * Top of data reached *: Part of the data was scanned and the character string was not found.

nnn Lines searched

The record limit was reached and the character string was not found.
