DEFMODE

This parameter specifies the system default user mode used for new users. This default user mode applies to new users who have not been predefined to the product by the DEF USER command.

Syntax:

DEFMODE=abcde

The default is YNNNN.

Each position is specified as follows:

Y

The user can enter a specific online operating mode

N

The user cannot enter a specific online operating mode

D

The default mode for a first-time user

If there are multiple Ds, the first one is used. If there is no D, the first Y is used to indicate the initial mode for a first-time user.

If DEFMODE=NNNNN is specified, no new users are permitted. This table explains the values for a, b, c, d, e in the parameter statement:

For example, DEFMODE=YNNNN, the default, means yes for ALL mode and no for the remainder of the modes.
