The SQL statement CREATE AREA can be used to define one or more areas for the database created.
A database requires at least one area, and each area requires at least one table. Each table must contain at least one column and one index.
Prior to using any table(s) created in a new database and area, the data areas and index areas must be allocated and initialized, or the DBUTLTY function PREINIT must be used. For information about PREINIT, see the CA Datacom/DB DBUTLTY Reference Guide.
