* ASTERISKS POINTS NEAR ERROR

Reason:

This error message is special in form. The asterisk is able to float along the line and attempts to print out the location of the parser when the error occurred. Because some errors can be determined early, such as when a parameter is missing, while others are determined late, such as an out-of-range parameter value, the * can be at, before, or after the parameter in question.

Action:

To understand the problem, see other error messages.
