By making use of the ability of the DBIN1PR Macro to process user configuration options prior to normal SYSIN processing, the DBUTLTY DEFAULT function allows you to control a few defaults.
Important! We recommend that you use the DBUTLTY DEFAULT function with caution. We recommend caution because when most users note a condition code of 0 (zero), they do not additionally view output. Therefore, other than expected results are not noticed. For that reason, it is simpler and of less potential confusion to all DBUTLTY users if the actual JCL streams are adjusted for site standards, instead of making use of the DEFAULT function.
Note: DBIN1PR is a special process and does not follow the normal statement rules allowed by SYSIN. This includes placement of blanks and lack of the ability to have a continued statement.
