Check Success of the Installation

For the CA Datacom Server startup job to complete successfully, when the Mainframe Server component starts, the Multi-User Facility with which it communicates, CAICCI, and TCP/IP must already be active.

To check the success of the installation

  1. Create/edit the SVDBSPR job stream which initiates the Mainframe Server.
  2. Define a CA Datacom Server ODBC data source on the Windows workstation or web server.
  3. Select the Data Source tab on the CA Datacom/DB ODBC set-up panel and click the Test button.
  4. Supply a user ID and password if required by the Mainframe Server startup parameters and click Connect.

Note: If the connection fails, verify that the workstation entries were entered correctly. If they were, note the error message and determine the cause. If further problems occur, follow the procedure to contact CA technical support in the Installation and Maintenance guide for your environment.
