Use the CXXMAINT FORMAT0102 function to specify the ID of the database or databases to alter from FORMAT 1 to FORMAT 2.
The FORMAT 1 ability provides features supported by Version 11.0 and later releases. The FORMAT 2 ability provides features supported by Version 12.0 and later releases. They were built to ease and speed upgrade from Version 11.0 to Version 12.0. All current Version 12.0 users should be at FORMAT 2 or convert to FORMAT 2. With Version 14.0, the two formats are supported but only expected to potentially be used by a site still running Version 11.0 and planning to upgrade to Version 12.0 only as a temporary pass through to Version 14.0. Version 14.0 is the last to support FORMAT 1.
