Carefully consider the consequences of turning logging on or off. Logging directly relates to CA Datacom/DB Recovery features, including transaction backout. See the CA Datacom/DB Database and System Administration Guide for details about logging.
We recommend that logging be active for any table containing production data. Logging is an integral part of the Pipeline performance option that significantly reduces the overhead to perform maintenance operations. See the CA Datacom/DB Database and System Administration Guide for details about the Pipeline option.
Proper execution of SQL statements that cause data change requires all affected tables to have logging enabled. Logging should not be turned off (LOGGING=NO) for any SQL maintenance. This applies to both the CA Datacom Datadictionary definition and the DBUTLTY CXXMAINT option.
