CA Datacom Version 14.0 delivers an enhanced buffer recognition hashing algorithm. This enhanced technique significantly reduces the amount of CPU needed for managing large amounts of buffers. This improvement increases the value of having data blocks in memory as opposed to doing physical I/O.
Business Value
Specifying additional buffers does not significantly increase the CPU processing needed for managing the buffers, but having additional buffers can reduce physical I/O which also reduces CPU consumption.
