Applying Triggers to Files
When CA DataMinder applies a trigger to a file, it does the following:
- It analyzes the file metadata. In most cases, this only includes the name of the file.
For example, a Data At Rest trigger may exclude all bitmaps (*.bmp files) from policy. As soon as CA DataMinder detects a bitmap, it knows to exempt the file from further policy processing.
- It analyzes the content of the file. For example, it can compare the file against document classifications or it can check for keywords or phrases.
