Schedule Data Warehouse Purges

If you purge large amounts of data from the data warehouse, this generates a heavy workload on the CMS. We therefore recommend that you run data purges during offpeak times.

• For Oracle CMSs, a partition-based purging scheme is the most efficient way of purging data from your CMS database.
• For SQL Server CMSs where partitioning support is not currently available, we recommend less frequent but larger purges. You can also improve purge performance by temporarily dropping secondary indexes.
