Web Actions

Web actions refer to user activity detected by the CA DataMinder Internet Explorer agent. These actions govern how CA DataMinder handles unauthorized or borderline attempts to access web pages, upload files, or submit data to a web site. The available actions are:

Monitor

CA DataMinder captures the actual web page, data submission, or file upload and stores it on the CMS. No other action is taken.

Warn

CA DataMinder displays a warning dialog. You can configure the warning message. The warning dialog lets the user choose whether to continue or not.

Warn - With Personal Option

CA DataMinder displays a modified warning dialog. Just like the standard Warning dialog, this modified dialog lets the user choose whether to continue or not. But it also allows the user to indicate that they are browsing the Web page for personal reasons.

In particular, users can click a 'Personal' button. Clicking this button overrides the warning and allows the user to continue. CA DataMinder identifies the incident as 'personal' in the iConsole and does not capture the web page title or content.

Block

CA DataMinder blocks the web page, data submission, or file upload and displays the Blocking dialog. You can use the dialog's notification message to explain to the user why this action was taken.
