Tracking ID 705-19: Antivirus Exceptions

We recommend that you exclude the CA Data Protection program (%wgninstalldir%) and data (%wgndatadir%) directories from antivirus checks. This improves performance and ensures that the data is not corrupted by antivirus suites.

Exclusions are required for all CA Data Protection binary and data directories, processes, and other critical application components. CA Data Protection uses encryption schemes for securing all CA Data Protection BLOB data files and folders. Some of these data files and folders should not be scanned or modified by the enterprise wide antivirus scanning tool. Scanning these CA Data Protection binaries, data files, and folders can lead to application corruption and malfunction. If the application malfunctions, you may need to restore those CA Data Protection components and servers.
