CA Data Protection Server Requirements

After setting up your SQL Server database for CA Data Protection, note the following requirements when you install your CMS and gateway servers.

TCP/IP Port Number

When you install the CMS or a gateway server, the installation wizard prompts you for the TCP/IP port number used by SQL Server. If you have multiple instances of SQL Server running on a single machine, each must have its own port number. Make sure that you enter the port number associated with the CA Data Protection database when you run the installation wizard.

Using a Remote \Data Folder

If you want to use a SQL Server database while storing your captured data in a remote \Data folder, you must:
