Stop and Restart CPUs

Depending on the platform, you can either restart individual CPUs, or restart every CPU.

Note: We strongly recommend that you only do this under the guidance of CA Technical Support.

To stop and restart CPUs (Bivio 2000 appliances only)

  1. Log on to the NBA console and browse to the CPUs screen.
  2. Use the Reboot and Halt buttons to stop and restart individual CPUs.

    This is useful if you want to channel all traffic through a single CPU for testing or diagnostic purposes. For example, you can test cpu-1 in isolation by using the Halt button to stop cpu-2 through cpu-6.

To stop and restart CPUs (Bivio 7000 appliances or Linux Server platform only)

  1. Log on to the NBA console and browse to the Administration screen.
  2. Use the Reboot button to restart all CPUs.
