Validating Windows Accounts on XP Machines

If you are installing any CA DLP FastStart component on a machine running Windows XP in a workgroup, you need to enable the installer to validate the Windows Administrator or FSA Service account. To do this, you must edit a registry value in this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

Within this key, edit the following registry value:

ForceGuest

Type: REG_DWORD

Data: Set this to 0 (zero). This enables the installation wizard to confirm that the Windows Administrator or FSA Service accounts are valid Windows accounts.
