Autonomy ZANTAZ Digital Safe Integration
CA DLP can integrate with Autonomy ZANTAZ Digital Safe. From the Autonomy ZANTAZ Web site:
"Autonomy ZANTAZ Digital Safe a massively scalable, hosted archive service that enables customers to outsource the storage and management of their email messages, attachments, files, Instant Messages (IMs), unified communications content and, with IDOL, content from over 400 other repositories, to a trusted, proven third-party."
Integration with Digital Safe is provided through two CA components: the Digital Safe Adapter and the Universal Adapter (UA). The UA imports emails from Exchange mailboxes and outputs them to the Digital Safe Adapter, which then outputs them to the Digital Safe archive. The UA then outputs the same emails to EVF files for subsequent importing into the CMS. The import operation ensures that emails in the archive can be subsequently retrieved by reviewers using CA DLP consoles.
Note: CA DLP integration with Zantaz Digital Safe does not currently support Domino emails.
The diagram below shows a typical deployment, with two instances of the Digital Safe Adapter:
- The first Digital Safe Adapter runs on the same machine as the UA. Using the Digital Safe ingestion service, this Digital Safe Adapter outputs emails to the Digital Safe archive and then sends identifiers for each archived emails back to the UA.
- The second Digital Safe Adapter typically runs on the CMS (along with the Remote Data Manager) and uses the Digital Safe retrieval service. This enables reviewers using the iConsole to retrieve and view emails stored in the Digital Safe archive.

Digital Safe integration: Distributed deployment
- Exchange server: Emails waiting to be archived are stored in journal mailboxes in Microsoft Exchange.
- Universal Adapter host server: This server hosts the UA (2a) and the Digital Safe Adapter (2b). This Digital Safe Adapter receives imported emails from the UA and, using the Digital Safe ingestion service, outputs them to the digital archive (3). When these emails have been successfully archived, the UA outputs them to EVF files (4a).
- Digital Safe archive: This archive contains the actual message data for emails imported from Exchange mailboxes.
- Event Import host server: Event Import (4b) imports the emails in the EVF files (4a) into the CMS.
- CMS: A record in the CMS database (5a) for each imported EVF file references the associated email in the Digital Safe archive. This server also hosts the Remote Data Manager (5b) and a second Digital Safe Adapter to drive the retrieval service (5c).
- iConsole: When displaying archived emails in the iConsole, the Remote Data Manager (5b) connects to the Digital Safe Adapter retrieval service (5c) to retrieve data for emails stored in the Digital Safe archive (3).
