Copy DLLs to the EV Administration Console System

(Only required If using Enterprise Vault to archive Exchange emails)

CA DLP uses the RDM to retrieve archived events. When the policy engine has processed an email event and policy has caused it to be saved, the event metadata and an event identifier are replicated to the CMS. The event identifier allows the Remote Data Manager (RDM) to retrieve the email from the Enterprise Vault archive during subsequent event searches.

Before you can install the RDM on an EV Administration Console (also referred to as a VAC machine), you must copy a DLL onto the VAC machine.

To copy the DLLs to the VAC machine

1. Go to the \Program Files\Enterprise Vault folder on the Enterprise Vault host server.
2. Copy AutoStorageOnlineOpns.dll from this folder to the equivalent folder on the VAC machine.
3. On the VAC machine, from the \Program Files\Enterprise Vault folder, run the following commands:

   Regsvr32 AutoStorageOnlineOpns.dll
   Regsvr32 AutoStorageOnlineOpnsps.dll
   

   Note: If you are running Enterprise Vault version 7.0 or later, you do not need to run the second command.

4. Install and configure the RDM.

   Note the following:

   • The CA DLP infrastructure must be run using the Enterprise Vault service account.
   • The versions of the RDM installed on an EV Administration Console and on the Enterprise Vault server must be the same.
