Deploying Policy Engines

Deploying policy engines is the first step in the overall task of integrating CA DLP with third party email or archiving solutions (Exchange, Domino or Enterprise Vault) or when setting up the Import Policy feature.

When deploying policy engines, you must first set up the necessary user accounts. You can then install as many policy engines as you need. You must then edit the machine policy on the host machines. You may also need to edit the registry on host machines to enable user lookup operations.

The key deployment tasks are as follows:

  1. Deploy your policy engines. You will need to:
  2. Deploy the policy engine hub.
  3. Set up the event source. Policy engines process events arriving from an external source.
