Set Secure Passwords

You can prevent passwords for the NBA console user and NBA share user from being transmitted in plain text on the corporate network.

To set secure passwords

1. Do one of the following:
   • Connect with your browser using HTTPS.
   • Connect a computer directly to the management port using an appropriate crossover cable or a dedicated hub or switch.
2. Log on to the NBA console and browse to the Adminstration screen.
3. Edit the passwords for the NBA user accounts.
4. (Bivio 2000 appliances only) Make sure that users always connect to the NBA consule using HTTPS.

   Bivio 2000 appliances can accept connections to the NBA console using HTTPS or HTTP. But to keep passwords secure, users must use HTTPS.

   Note: Bivio 7000 appliances only accept connections to the NBA console using HTTPS.
