Assign an IP Address to the NBA Management Port

Before you can use the NBA, you must integrate the NBA with your corporate network by assigning an IP address to the NBA management port. This enables you to access the NBA console and permits CA DLP to import captured files and e‑mails from folders on the NBA.

(Bivio 2000 appliances only) Remember also that the management port IP address must be on a different subnet to the s0.e2 port. See the previous section for details.

To assign an IP address

1. Connect to the Management port on the front of the NBA.
2. Launch the NBA console for the first time. To do this, browse to its default IP address:

   https://192.168.1.1

   The NBA console displays automatically.

3. Log on using the default username and password for the NBA console user:

   On Bivio 2000 appliances, these are ‘admin’ and ‘admin’ respectively.

   On Bivio 7000 appliances, these are ‘webadmin’ and ‘webadmin’ respectively.

   Note: You will set a more secure password in the following section.

4. On Bivio 2000 appliances, go to the Administration screen.

   On Bivio 7000 appliances, go to the Interfaces screen.

5. Edit the following settings in the IP Address Configuration section:

   Management Port Address

   Supply an internal IP address that your administrators can use to access the NBA.

   On Bivio 2000 appliances, this IP address must be on a different subnet to the s0.e2 port.

   On Bivio 7000 appliances, this IP address must be on the same subnet as your CA DLP policy engines or it must have access to that subnet via a router or switch.

   Netmask

   Supply a subnet mask for the network segment on which the NBA is located.

   For example, if machines on your corporate network (including any policy engines) are on a 10.0.12.* subnet, you need to configure the management port IP address as follows:

   • On Bivio 2000 appliances, set the IP address to be on a different subnet to the s0.e2, such as 10.200.0.1.
   • On Bivio 7000 appliances, set the IP address to be on the same subnet as the policy engines, such as 10.0.12.1.
6. Confirm the address change:
   • On Bivio 2000 appliances, click Modify.
   • On Bivio 7000 appliances, click Apply.

   As soon as you confirm the address change, you lose the existing connection to the NBA console.

7. Confirm that the address change was successful. To do this, reconnect to the NBA using the address you supplied in step 5.

   The NBA console displays automatically.
