Transaction groups are used for CICS and IMS to group similar transactions together for monitoring purposes. These transactions can be for the same application or performance profile. With CA Cross-Enterprise APM, these groups are available for metric viewing and dashboard creation.
The IMS and CICS groups can consist of one or many transactions. Groups that are created in CA SYSVIEW automatically appear in CA APM in the next metric update interval.
The GROUPS command enables you to create IMS transaction groups in a CA SYSVIEW region.
IMS transaction groups are defined across all IMS subsystems you want to have them configured in, not per IMS subsystem.
The following example shows the panel that the command displays:
Cmd Group Type Exclude Member Description ____ ?AddGrp ?type n/a n/a ?description ____ ALERTS TRAPDEST INCLUDE ?AddMember SNMP trap destinations ____ CICSMAIL EMAIL INCLUDE ?AddMember CICS Alert email list ____ . .
