Software Requirements

Before you install CA Cross-Enterprise APM, verify that you have met the following requirements for each component that you plan to enable.

The supported platforms (as applicable):

• z/OS, JES2, and JES3: Version 1.12, Version 1.13, or Version 2.1
• UNIX System Services: Enabled
• Java: 31-bit mode of Version 5, Version 6, or Version 7
• CA APM: Release 9.6
• CA SYSVIEW PM: Release 13.5, Release 13.7, or Release 13.9

  Important! You require a license for the full version to enable the metrics, typeviews, and dashboards for z/OS Alerts, z/OS Degradation Delay Analysis, z/OS Workload Manager Service Goals, CICS Alerts, CICS Degradation Analysis, and MQ Alerts. Release 13.5 does not support these features. Release 13.7 does not support MQ Alerts.

  • CA Datacom/DB: Version 12.0 or Version 14.0
  • CICS: Version 3.1, Version 3.2, Version 4.1, Version 4.2, or Version 5.1
  • IMS: Version 11.1, Version 12.1, or Version 13.1
  • WebSphere MQ for z/OS: Version 7.0.1 or Version 7.1
• CA Insight DPM for DB2 for z/OS (if you plan on retrieving DB2 performance metrics): r14, r14.5, r15, Version 16.0, or Version 17.0 (all with latest maintenance applied)

  Note: To monitor the performance metrics from DB2 data sharing groups, you require at least Version 17.0.

  • DB2: Version 8.1, Version 9.1, or Version 10.1
• CA DB2 Tools Xmanager: Version 14.0 or later
• CA DB2 Tools Xnet: Version 14.0 or later
• CA NetMaster NM for TCP/IP: Version 12.0 (with maintenance) or Release 12.1

Note: The Enterprise Manager can reside on any supported operating system, not only z/OS.

Note: The Cross-Enterprise APM Agent must run on the same system (or LPAR) as CA SYSVIEW and CA Insight DPM.
