Automatic Backup of the UNIX User and Group Files

Before the first update of a UNIX user in a session and before the first update of a UNIX group in a session, CA ControlMinder creates a backup copy of the files /etc/passwd or /etc/group. The backup files are called /etc/passwd.SeOS.bak and /etc/group.SeOS.bak, respectively. If an error occurs when updating the UNIX system, the original information is recoverable. Backups are made only before the first change to the UNIX system in a selang command shell session.
