secons Utility

The secons utility is the CA ControlMinder security console. It lets you perform the following tasks:

• On UNIX:
  • Display run-time statistics
  • Manage concurrent login options
  • Manage CA ControlMinder tracing
  • Manage resource caching
  • Manage CA ControlMinder shutdown
  • Reload configuration settings
  • Remove XUSER objects
  • Display kernel tables
  • Clean, enable, or disable kernel cache tables
• On Windows:
  • Control instrumentation run-time settings
  • Display run-time statistics
  • Display ACEE Records
  • Manage concurrent login options
  • Manage CA ControlMinder tracing
  • Refresh IP addresses for network resources
  • Remove XUSER objects
  • Resolve recycled accounts
  • Shut down CA ControlMinder
  • Display your user name and security credentials

The secons utility is available to both security administrators and other users. However, only some options are available for users who do not have the ADMIN attribute. These options are:

-m (trace management), -d-, -d+, -ds (login management), and -whoami (user's credentials).
