Security Considerations

Access to the CA SDM requires a user ID and password. The user ID and password can be:

• Stored in the CAISDI/soap server Environment Variables file (DDNAME ENVVAR)
• Provided by the other CAISDI components
• Provided by another CA Technologies program that is using CAISDI

The libraries or control data sets holding the user ID and password must be secured. Use the Secured Socket Layer (SSL) to keep the ID and password encrypted as it is relayed through the network.

For CAISDI/soap server before Version 14.0, the user ID and password are stored in its configuration file that is allocated to DDNAME CONFIG.
