Event Console Log

The Event Console Log provides both a real‑time and a historical online interface to all Event Management message activity. Created daily, the log is a file containing all messages that are written to the Event Console Log on a particular day. View the log for the previous day, or the log for the next day, or select a log created on a specific date.

Only Event Management can read these files. You can set the directory where these files are stored with the Console Files Directory (CAI_CONLOG) environment variable.

Consider a policy for archiving outdated Event Console Log files to tape for off‑site storage.
