Configure CA IT PAM User Account in Client Automation

Automated migration uses CA IT PAM to automate the OS migration workflow. To enable CA IT PAM to interact with Client Automation, configure a CA IT PAM user account in the DSM domain manager.

Note: The CA IT PAM user that you are configuring must have execute permissions in CA IT PAM.

To configure CA IT PAM user account in Client Automation

  1. Create a local WINNT user account for the CA IT PAM user in the domain manager computer. You can skip this step, if you want to use LDAP user credentials of the CA IT PAM user.

Important! Automated migration does not support Sun One Directory Server. If you are using Sun One Directory Server as your LDAP, use a WINNT user account for the CA IT PAM user.

  2. Add the CA IT PAM user account to Client Automation security profiles and grant Full Control to the following security object classes:

The CA IT PAM administrator is authorized to access Client Automation to perform the necessary functions. You specify the credentials of this user while creating the migration jobs.
