CA Client Automation (Client Automation) supports all major operating environments. For the current list of supported operating system platforms, see the Compatibility matrix.
Note: In this document, the term UNIX refers to the UNIX derivatives AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Mac OS X. If a system component or software feature of this release does not apply to all UNIX derivatives, this is specified in the description of the component or feature.
The following tables provide the minimum recommended hardware specifications and requirements for this release.
Actual hardware requirements depend on the system load on the system, including the frequency and amount of data collected and transferred and the number of operations.
A DSM enterprise manager requires (at a minimum) the following hardware configuration:
Component |
Speed/Size |
---|---|
DVD-ROM Drive |
Any |
CPU |
1 or 2 CPUs, 2GHz. Note: 2 CPUs is required if the MDB is hosted on the same computer as the DSM enterprise manager. |
Memory |
2 GB minimum. Note: A minimum of 4 GB RAM is required if the MDB is hosted on the same computer as the DSM enterprise manager. |
Disk Space |
30 GB minimum. Note: A minimum of 100 GB is required if the MDB is hosted on the same computer as the DSM enterprise manager. Important! The required MDB disk space must exist in the same disk partition as the MDB. Allow additional space for the Software Package Library. The total space required depends on the number and size of packages to store. |
NIC |
100 Mbps |
A DSM domain manager requires (at a minimum) the following hardware configuration:
Component |
Speed/Size |
---|---|
DVD-ROM Drive |
Any |
CPU |
1 or 2 CPUs, 2GHz Note: 2 CPUs is required if the MDB is hosted on the same computer as the DSM domain manager. |
Memory |
2 GB minimum. Note: A minimum of 4 GB RAM is required if the MDB is hosted on the same computer as the DSM domain manager. |
Disk Space |
30 GB minimum. Note: A minimum of 100 GB is required if the MDB is hosted on the same computer as the DSM domain manager. Important! The required MDB disk space must exist in the same disk partition as the MDB. Allow additional space for the Software Package Library. The total space required depends on the number and size of packages to store. |
NIC |
100 Mbps |
A DSM scalability server requires (at a minimum) the following hardware configuration:
Note: These minimums apply to all supported Windows, RedHat, and SuSE operating environments.
