Create a New Collect Task

Collect tasks gather hardware, software, template, and virtual host inventories. You can also configure a collect task to collect file scan and software usage information. Use the Select new Collect Task type dialog to select the type of collect task.

To create a new collect task

  1. Navigate to the appropriate Collect Tasks folder.
  2. Right-click the folder, and select New from the context menu.

    The Select new Collect Task type dialog appears.

  3. Select the type of collect task you want to perform:
  4. Click OK.

    The Schedule New Collect Task dialog appears. Depending on the type selected, the appearance of subsequent dialogs, tabs, and actions may vary.

  5. In the General tab, specify the name of the collect task, and click Set Scheduling.

    The Scheduling Options dialog appears.

  6. Specify the scheduling options, and click OK.
  7. Specify the required information in the other tabs and click OK.

    A new collect task is created with the given name.
