How CA Clarity PPM Projects are Opened in Microsoft Project

You can open projects from:

• CA Clarity PPM
• CA Clarity PPM Microsoft Project Interface with CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect

Before opening projects:

• Ensure you have fully installed CA Clarity PPM Microsoft Project Interface with CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect. If you do not have CA Clarity PPM Microsoft Project Interface installed and you open a project from CA Clarity PPM into Microsoft Project, a generic browser download occurs.
• Ensure projects you are attempting to open:
  • Are not already open in Microsoft Project.
  • Do not have the same project name as other projects you already have open in Microsoft Project.

  Otherwise, the project you open could replace the currently open project. Any unsaved changes in the open project are lost.

• Close any open dialog boxes or let any interactions with Microsoft Project complete before attempting to open projects using CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect. CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect may stall until other interactions with Microsoft Project are complete.
• Exit Microsoft Project and change the server settings in CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect before attempting to open a project from a different CA Clarity PPM server.

If you have Microsoft Project running and CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect is already connected to a CA Clarity PPM server, CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect attempts to open a project with the same ID from the CA Clarity PPM server that CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect is currently connected to. If the project ID is not found, the project cannot open.
