If you are using CA Clarity PPM with Open Workbench, you must manually log in to CA Clarity PPM. When you start Open Workbench, the Log on to CA Clarity PPM dialog box opens. If you installed CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect from a CA Clarity PPM server, the host name, SSL, and user name default to the host name and CA Clarity PPM user name from which you installed CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect. You can change these settings. Once you set up the connection and log in, CA Clarity PPM Schedule Connect remembers your settings. If you log on successfully, the existing CA Clarity PPM session is retained from one CA Clarity PPM-dependent feature to another until the CA Clarity PPM session expires. If you request a CA Clarity PPM-dependent Open Workbench feature after the session has expired, you must log on again.
Note: Sessions are not persisted from one system to another except when opening a project from CA Clarity PPM.
When you open a project from CA Clarity PPM to update it in Open Workbench, you implicitly log in to CA Clarity PPM. No additional setup is required if you open a project from CA Clarity PPM. Open Workbench defaults to offline mode when you cancel the log on operation or after you make three failed attempts to log on.
